Khao San Gin

Armed with a backpack and an open mind, Sherwin and Tim travelled through the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. It was an incredible journey that opened their eyes to new cultures, sights, sounds and smells. The thing that really stuck with them was the food. It was vibrant, fresh and had the most incredible balance of sweet, sour, spicy and umami flavours. On their return to England, they had an idea; to distil the essence of Southeast Asia and bring something new and innovative to the spirits category, so they set about creating their first Southeast Asian Gin. A celebration of the people they met, the places they travelled to, and the ingredients they discovered.

 The limited edition Tarsier Khao San Gin, the first release from their Backpacker Series, is a celebration of Thailand and the famous Khao San Road in Bangkok. Thai red chilli, kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass are the signature flavours that recreate the fresh and vibrant taste of Thai cuisine. Fragrant citrus balances against the fruity notes of chilli, but without the biting heat.
 Khao San Gin is an expression of this incredible location. Tarsier have used cold-distilled Kaffir Lime Leaf, Lemongrass and Thai Red Chilli separately in a vacuum still. This is then blended with a traditional distillate of 10 carefully selected botanicals, to harness the fresh, vibrant flavours of Thai cuisine. Bottled it at 41.2% in homage to this famous road which measures 412 metres long.
 Each bottle has a QR code on the back, which when scanned will transport you to Thailand with photos, videos and recipes from the area. You can immerse yourself in the culture, cuisine and atmosphere of Bangkok without leaving your house!
