Hand Crafted By Geoff HardyAdelaide Hills Fiano 2024
About this product
Story: Fiano is a white Italian variety grown primarily in the Campania region in the south, and also on the island of Sicily. Known for its low yields, strong flavours and intense aromas, this is a variety to watch in the years to come.
Vintage: The 2024 Vintage was initiated by a very wet spring after a relatively dry July, August and September. The wet period included two large rainfalls during November and early December leading to spoilt flowering, very low berry numbers and an extremely low crop in most varieties. These low crops were blessed with cool dry conditions throughout the three months up to vintage giving fabulous flavour development very much like the 2002 season which makes me confident of wines that will age brilliantly.
Nose: Lifted aromas of white peach, nectarine and citrus zest lead the way, layered with delicate notes of lemon balm, honeysuckle and wet river stone. The bouquet is bright, fresh and slightly savoury.
Palate: Zesty lemon sorbet, ripe peach and juicy nectarine dominate the palate, supported by a creamy texture from extended time on lees. This adds depth, weight and a savoury element that brings complexity and length to the wine.
Food Pairings: An ideal match with crispy-skinned salmon served with lemon, dill and capers — the wine’s acidity cuts through the richness of the fish while enhancing the freshness of the dish.

Apricots, lemons and white flowers on the nose of this fresh white. It's medium-bodied, crisp and clean, with an attractively bitter lemon rind character. Drink now. Screw cap.
