MerindocWilloughby Bridge Shiraz 2018
About this product
A warm continental climate, sandy granite and Cambrian red soils and fastidious Viticulture produces grapes of deep concentration, purity and Heathcote regional character.
Low yielding vines have created a wine of vivid red/purple colour, lifted dark berry, violet and black cherry aromatics; refined weight and texture: and a savoury, long fine-grained finish.
The Winemaking
After handpicking, the separate fruit parcels were given a short pre-fermentation cold soak before being crushed and open fermented at warm temperatures. The wine was hand-plunged twice daily during its six-day ferment to extract the desired levels of colour and flavour. After ferment the individual wines were pressed of into new and secondary oak casks.
