Jurancon Wine Finish Single Cask Single Malt Whisky

This a single cask of Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in October 1997, matured in an American oak cask for the majority of its live, with additional time in a Jurancon wine cask at the end. Jurancon is a French white wine, and this cask was ex the sweet Jurancon style. The whisky was aged for 19 years in total and bottled in 2016.
It has flavours of clean toasted barley, roasted nuts, light floral notes with hints of tropcical fruit from the Jurancon cask finish woven together with gentle oak. This unpeated whisky is full of flavour and adding a tiny splash of water allows the flavours to burst into life.
This whisky was from a single cask with only 250 bottles filled, making it quite rare and special.
