100% blue agave "Anjeo Extra" aged entirely in virgin new oak barrels

Porfidio aims to go beyond regular 100% agave Tequila. In terms of quality, “The Original by Porfidio” is considered by many to be the ultimate in the art of tequila making, despite not actually being classified as a Tequila.


Product Differentiation Points

• Made from only first-growth Blue Agave from the geographic Jalisco region in Mexico, and is therefore Super-Jalisco. It is not made from agave grown in other regions in Mexico such as Tamaulipas, Michoacan, and Guanajuato, as is permitted for 100% Agave tequilas.

• The Original by Porfidio is therefore not simply a 100% Agave Tequila, but a Blue Agave, Super-Jalisco.

• The Original by Porfidio is made from cold-pressed agave juice. The result is containing less than half the methanol conent of the industry average of 100% Agave Tequilas.

• The cold pressed agave agave juice is enzymatically hydrolised and not thermally hydrolised or cooked.

• After hydrolisation The Original by Porfidio is distilled with state-of-the-art German Hollstein alembic still equipment, rather than traditional Mexican alembics

• The Original by Porfidio is not simply a regular Anejo. It is aged in virgin oak barrels and continuously aged for the entire time in new oak and not just 'finished' in new oak barrels.

• The Original by Porfidio is aged in the finest hand toasted virgin oak barrels and partially ocean matured, in a Tour-du-Monde.

• The result is a top-of-the-top Agave Spirit - in flavour and quality

• The Original by Porfidio is presented in a hand made glass bottle with a glass cactus figurine in each bottle. Each figurine is detailed with three red glass 'fruits'.
