Sourced from a vineyard planted in the 1890s, the 120 year old vines produce liquid history. The ancient roots extract deep in the ground, giving the grapes flavours that younger vines simply can not access. The aged vines also ensure a small but highly concentrated crop with dark skins and intense fruit characters.
Winemaker Rolf Binder understands old vines better than most, he learnt his viticulture from the great Vic Kraft, the architect of many of the Barossa’s greatest vineyards. The use of older oak and larger format barrels lets the natural flavours of the vines shine.
The wine comes packaged in a bespoke 5 bottle box gift box with 4 tissue wrapped bottles and one bottle in a single gift box.

Offering power as well as refinement, this magnificent shiraz shows dark fruit intensity combined with cedar, toasted spice, floral and smoked game nuances on the nose, leading to a superbly concentrated palate that's plush and mouthfilling. Wonderfully harmonious and richly textured with a commanding presence.
