The Wednesday Night Wine Company is a team effort by the Artisans of Barossa, each wine reflecting our collective winemaking experience, our knowledge of the Barossa vineyard landscape, and the breadth of our connections in the Barossa wine community. The 2016 vintage was exceptional and produced some of the best Shiraz wines we’ve tasted since the legendary 2012. Blended from a selection of lower yielding vineyard sites across the Barossa Valley, we think this is top notch Shiraz at this price, a wine we’d all be happy plonking on the table any night of the week.

Bought this on whim when I saw this pop up in my email and thought what can go wrong with a Barossa Shira rated at 96pts for $16.50/bottle - and free delivery... well actually not not much can go wrong! Not as bold as the description says,

The quality of the wine is outstanding. The coating it leaves on the inside of the glass, as you move it around, is just so smooth, and velvety. The aroma is magnificent, I can definitely see why it obtained its high ranking.

Huge hype for this wine. Very ordinary indeed. 96 points, hardly. Probably good for cooking or a fireside special..........no, just for cooking. Disappointing wine
