Vintage 2017
90 points The Wine Front
Shiraz from the Alpine/Ovens Valley. Indeed it’s from the Con Mara vineyard at Whorouly South. Good, intense, cherry-plum fruit flavour together with a slightly over-generous serve of toasty, resiny oak. It’s slightly out of whack, balance-wise, but it will settle in time. Ripeness, mouthfeel and length were all in a good place.

Light to medium-bodied, well made, the 30% new oak pushing the envelope to some degree but not tearing it. Sweet black and red fruits join fine tannins, making the wine an each way bet.
