Goldman Wines'Bluebone' Chardonnay 2021
About this product
Interesting label but why the fish? Simple. We love fishing and the Bluebone is one of our favourites!
Vineyard: Greenacres, Merriang South
Region: Alpine Valleys
Harvested: February 2021
Volume Made: 63 Dozen
Winemaker: Jo Marsh and Glenn James
Alc: 12.6%
Winemaking
Hand harvested, whole bunch pressed and filled directly to barrel with full solids. Fermented with indigenous yeast in barrel and allowed partial malolactic fermentation. Once sulphured, the wine was matured in French barriques (approximately 40% new oak) on full solids with minimal stirring for a further 9 months before blending, clarification and bottling in January 2022.
Tasting Note
Attractive oak forefront and immersed with nougat and spice, the nose is complex and offers aromasof underlying white peach. The palate displays the same white stone fruit, teamed with a pleasing creamy texture owed to time spent on lees. The palate is tied together neatly with an attractive
mineral edge to finish.
