WangolinaSingle Vineyard Semillon 2015
About this product
Planted in 1999 the Semillon is one of the original plantings at Wangolina. Natural acid retention was prevalent in this vintage with all white fruit exhibiting crunchy and vibrant natural acid which translated into the wines.
The Originals Semillon was handpicked and whole bunch pressed before being divided evenly into two portions. One fermented with wild yeast in older French oak and the remainder into a ceramic egg for approx four months. Both methods of ferment increase the mouthfeel because of increased lees contact. The Semillon was then blended back together, clarified and then bottled while still youthful.
The 2015 Semillon has flavours of lemon curd and lemon verbena, with custard apples and honeysuckle florals. The wine style is linear with driving acidity and an exceltionally long citrusy finish. Perfect with fresh oysters, whiting or pan fried snapper.
