A smooth sweet stout with flavours and aromas of burnt toffee, caramel and baked vanilla custard.
12 different specialty malts have been used in this brew. Black malt & roasted barley paired with caramel & toffee malts give the perceived flavour of caramelized sugar. Rolled, malted and naked oats give the silkiness expected from a French custard and create a balanced high ABV Stout. Willamette hops have been used for a subtle spiciness, adding just enough bitterness to balance the sweetness and remind you it’s a beer, not a dessert.
Additions of Vanilla bean extract to the kettle gives a ‘baked’ vanilla flavour, while vanilla bean and lactose added later bring sweetness and body as well as that custardy dessert aroma.
