This limited edition, small-batch run saw Chopin deviate from the house style of single-ingredient distillates to merge the creamy, earthy tones of the potato spirit with the fragrance and almost slippery lightness of Chopin’s wheat vodka.
Like all Chopin’s spirits, this is made without any chemical inputs, entirely from raw materials grown on Chopin’s estate south of Warsaw. Chopin processes and ferments all the potatoes and wheat onsite, then uses a 19th century copper column still for a methodical quadruple distillation. The distillate then mellows in large barrels before bottling.
The vodka opens with soft and elegant citrus notes and a hint of black pepper. On the palate there is a rich creaminess that leads into soft notes of jasmine and chamomile, before finishing with a almond character and slightly viscous texture. Blended Gold’s uniquely creamy and full-bodied mouthfeel combined with delicate apple and mineral aromatics make this perfect in drinks where the flavours can shine, like simply with soda and ice.
