About this product
From The Land Of The Great Himalayas, Sherried Single Malt Indian Whisky, this exceptional Amrut whisky, is made from a combination of 99% unpeated malted barley and 1% peated malted barley and aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in the finest sherry casks.
Amrut are the pioneers of Indian single malt whisky being the first to be made in India, with the distillery sourcing its barley from the Himalayas and aging the Amrut whisky at an altitude of over 3,000 feet above sea level in Bangalore.
Nose: Salted caramel in tandem with dark chocolate. There is an array of fruity notes presumably dried fruits with underlying oak tone. There is a hint of sandalwood and becomes floral with time.
Taste: A fruity affair complemented by floral tones and the experience is very oily too. The middle ground is creamy and the sandalwood and wood phenols show their face but completely controlled by an underlying peat note.
Finish: Sweet and dry peat finish.
Enjoy this Amrut whisky neat or with a drop of water to enhance its fruity, floral, and peaty notes, ideal for savoring the complex layers in a quiet moment.
Amrut or amrita is a Sanskrit word which can be translated as "nectar of the gods", "nectar of life", or "drink of the gods", and in this climate, the angels take way more than their share as up to 15% ABV of the whisky is lost per year, resulting in a spirit that has netted Amrut with hundreds of awards around the globe as a pioneering Amrut whisky.
"Great quality is not a choice, It is the inevitable result of the environment we create." Neelakanta R. Jagdale, Chairman & Managing Director, with each bottle of this Amrut whisky featuring a design that reflects its Himalayan heritage and premium sherry cask finishing for an elegant presentation.
