LeconfieldOld Vine Riesling 2020
About this product
Sydney Hamilton planted the 6 acre Riesling vineyard in 1974. Today it has become a benchmark of the variety in Coonawarra. The philosophy with this wine is to have minimal handling. This is wine in its purest form - elegant and stylish - from a single vineyard and a single fermenter. The nose shows fragrant floral fruits with hints of lemon and lime. The palate has excellent length in a citrus spectrum with a clean zesty finish.

From a single 2.6ha parcel planted in '74. Bright quartz-green. Preserved lemon and nectarine-like stone fruit. In the slightly riper fruit spectrum perhaps a function of its dry-grown origins. While in that spectrum, it doesn't lack for elegance, line or length, with a pure lemon citrus acidity the backbone and driving force.
