Levantine HillSemillon 2017
About this product
An historical but relatively unheralded Yarra Valley stalwart, Semillon rarely gets the chance to singularly represent itself in bottle. The 2017 vintage offered a parcel from our single block of such intricate individuality and self-confident expression, that we felt compelled to bottle a small amount. Subtle aromas of lemon zest, green papaya, ruby grapefruit, nashi pear, wood sorrel, hot rocks and petrichor reflect the long cool growing season which ease into the Semillon’s lanolin and chalk notes. Fine juicy acidity defines the palate with suppleness and nougat character from barrel fermentation; a hint of tactile tannin and citrus pith on the palate. Enjoy now but will benefit from bottle aging. Recommended serving temperature is 6 to 10˚C.
