Levantine HillGlen Garvald Marsanne Roussanne 2019
About this product
Unfurling aromas of ginger, makrut lime leaf, vanilla custard, flint and fennel seed introduce the rich and viscous palate which has its length and persistence aided by the inherent subliminal bitterness of the Marsanne skins and tactile phenolics. Roussanne works as the perfect foil, harnessing and focusing the power of the Marsanne, adding definition across the palate and accentuates the finish. Flavour resounds and reverberates as a result.

80/20 Marsanne/Roussanne. Straw-coloured, almost into yellow. Briney aromatics and flavour with woodsmoke, quartz and nectarine. It has both presence and power without being overt about it. There is a creamy, cashew-y note but it's only in the background and it's beautifully well integrated. It feels as though this wine is still a year or two away from it's best but it also feels as though are in ultra-save hands. There's something special brewing here.
