About this product
This wine takes its cue from the idea of creating a vinous symphony from blending multiple complementary grape varieties synonymous with France’s southern Rhône Valley. Largely based around Grenache Noir as the corner stone, other building-block varieties have historically been added into the mix based on their intrinsic qualities, regional suitability, and unique innate personalities as a contribution to the greater sum of the parts. This inaugural release of Glen Garvald GSM dips its lid to and raps on this theme of simpatico, harmony, balance, and integration of compatible grape varieties.
The nose shows the interplay of bright cherried fruits and dark brooding spice and earth with aromas of mince pies, cardamon, clove, sumac, Szechuan pepper, rosewater, and musk. The palate presents as mouth-filling and weighty yet medium-bodied. Flavours of dark chocolate, cherry ripe, barberries and pomegranate molasses. It is fleshy, spicy, and long with an abundance of youthful gravelly tannins setting it up for a resounding echo of flavour on the finish.
