Sapid flavours of sour cherry, tomato skin, rhubarb and damson plum meander across a chassis of tangy acidity and little tannin. Not in a bad way; but more in the sense of joy and effortless feel defined by an effusive youthfulness and minimal extraction.

This is slight, herbal and slightly meaty but it’s refreshing, interesting and fine to drink. It tastes of red cherry, cranberry, woodsy spice and dried herbs, a different flavour profile to the norm of Tempranillo in Australia, and it’s spread with assertive fine-grained tannin. It whispered to me that I should sit up and take note. It’s an admirable wine from multiple angles.
