August 2022 - "Bold and brooding with opulence as well as firm structure, the wine shows blackberry, smoked game, cracked pepper and cedary oak characters with a light touch of dark cocoa on the nose. The powerfully concentrated palate offers awesome weight and density, while remaining supple and silky. It's superbly structured by loads of polished tannins, finishing gorgeously complex and gratifying. At its best: now to 2037."

93 points – TheWineFront.com.au, Campbell Mattinson, 1 June 2022 - "It’s both super ripe and well-shaped. Asphalt, clove and graphite characters lead to twiggy, stressed herb and chocolate flavours, the impression both brutish and bold, not unlike the Z Special Unit, perhaps. It feels as smooth as it is rich, and while there’s both alcohol warmth and a baked aspect to the fruit, it remains neat throughout, and impressive, not the least thanks to the fine ribs of tannin running through the finish."
