In Zapotec (pre-hispanic culture from central Mexico) "Jolgorios" are moments of joy, celebration and rememberance. El Jolgrio Mezcal has created a range of artisinal Mezcales which reflect Mexican culture and tradition. The Pechuga Mezcal expression is a celebratory Mezcal and unlike the other expressions in the El Jolgorio range, Pechuga is not named after the species/variety of Agave but rather by the way it is produced. Crafted from Agave Espadin, this Mezcal is twice distilled in a copper pot still with fruits including Banana, Pineapple, Orange and Lychee. On the second distillation, the breast of a Guajolote (Creole turkey) is hung inside the still and cooked with the steam generated from the distillation which is where this Mezcal get's its exquisite aroma and palette.
