About this product

The Clarendon Hills Liandra Syrah is a single vineyard located in the Blewitt Springs subregion of McLaren Vale. The vineyard is planted in the famous deep sands of Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. The vineyard has been added to over the years by various proprietors before we acquired the vineyard in 2006. There are some really old vines planted in the 1920’s that go into the wine, however 95-99% of the fruit comes from the much larger vineyard patch planted in 1980.

The wine is named Liandra after the title of the winemaker’s residence.
On the bouquet notes of smokey bacon and roast meat are nuanced with a deeply woven black currant fruit core that resonates black olive tapenade, mocha and leather components with further aeration.
The palate is Long and smoothly polished throughout a fine boned, seamless structure. The silken black currant tannins are impeccably balanced and appear almost weightless while an omnipresent savoury earthy intensity lingers across the finish.
