Dry, Medium Bodied style of Grenache Shiraz MouvedreThis wine is named for Jeanne Gonnet, wife of Etienne Gonnet, who created the Font de Michelle estate.in 1880. Jeanne was an artist, a violinist and painter who loved the colours of Provence and drew her inspiration from flowers, olive trees and vines. The wine is only released in exceptional years. It is a rich and opulent yet also pure and elegant style with a big aromatic complexity from black cherry, blackberry, cocoa, bay, black pepper and licorice inflected fruit. The Grenache from 100-year-old vines in the famous La Crau vineyard, arguably the region’s best.

Vintage
2015 (vat/casks) quite a dark red colour. The nose is sturdy, reflects cooked plum fruits with attached sweetness, soaked raspberries. The palate centres on fluid gras richness, has a raspberry, tangy, flavour. The tannins are a touch dark, edgy. This can meld together, offers a genuine glass of Grenache wine with a suave coating of texture. There are sweet herbs on the aftertaste.Wine Spectator 2016
