Terra ArgillosaPetì Verdò 2013 750ml
About this product
The origin of Terra Argillosa is deep-rooted in sharecropping, amidst the small farming communities of the early Nineteenth century which represent the traditional economy of the Marche region. Terra Argillosa is located in Offida, southern provinces of the central Region Marche. Viticulture has characterized this territory since the ancient Romans.
Petit Verdot is late-ripening variety, normally associated with Bordeaux (where it is used in small quantities for blending), ripens more reliably in Italy’s warmer climate. Slow fermentation, several days on the skins with continuous pumping over, 12 months ageing, in new and second-passage French oak barrels, followed by 48 months in bottle. Intense and elegant nose, that opens with a hint of green pepper balanced by a sweet note of vanilla, lavender; then plum, sour cherry, pepper and liquorice. The palate, is full-bodied and well structured with flavours of ripe plum, vanilla, leather and spice finish. Taste orchestrated by perfectly integrated tannins in synergy with freshness, giving it depth and liveliness.
