Sylvius Distillery,located in Schiedam in the Netherlands is the oldest gin distillery in the world and has been operating since 1658. Named after Dr. Franciscus Dele Boë Sylvius who was the first person to register the term Genevre, the distilled juniper spirit and predeccossr to Gin. This happened in 1650. A mere 8 years later we started our company in the same town; Leiden. And that's where the Docter and our distillery meet....
