Since 2017, the Marionette crew of Melbourne hospitality experts (Shaun Byrne, Nick Tesar, Hugh Leech and Lauren Bonkowski) have been making outstanding liqueurs using local, seasonal ingredients. They came together around a simple philosophy: “Drink local. Drink seasonal”. Drinkers and venues alike were embracing local gins and whiskies, but imported European liqueurs continued to dominate bars. They saw an opportunity to create classic fruit liqueurs with an Australian twist.
Each and every component of the Elderflower liqueur was
carefully introduced to create a harmonious floral
bouquet. On the nose this liqueur unfolds with blossom
and refreshing nectarine iced tea. A honeyed apricot
mid-palate and the crisp acidity of green grapes tie
it all together, finishing clean and refreshing, with
whispers of an off-dry Riesling.
