In January 2010, Damoiseau distillery bottled some of its most precious vintages, of which this Damoiseau vintage 1989, that was put to age in oak barrels on the 13th of April 1989. Barrel number 47 was carefully selected and its rum was bottled full proof, without adding of water or blending during the whole process. This also explains its high abv : 58.4. The result is a very dry and powerful rum with notes of vanilla dried fruit and leather are dominated by aromas of sandal wood.
