Organic viticulture pioneer Frankland Estate is a standout producer here. Their wines display finesse and balance and an incisive expression of cool climate winegrowing.
2022 Frankland Estate Riesling
A very crystalline riesling on the nose with hints of white citrus flower and blossom. The soft and delicate approach builds with a combination of lime and bath salts. Delicate crystalline flavours on the palate show a dry precise Riesling with texture, spice and delicate acidity that give the wine focus and fantastic length. Consistent with the well established Rieslings from Frankland Estate, this wine displays the balance of pristine fruit flavours and laser like acidity, allied to generosity of fruit.
2021 Frankland Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
100% Cabernet Sauvignon, organically grown and raised. Wafts of dark chocolate, cedar and dried Italian mixed herbs are complemented by lifted red currants and mulberry. The palate is opulent yet focused. Ripe fruit abounds, balanced by mouthcoating chalky tannin, which gives the wine texture and length. Ripe mulberry flavours intertwine with cacao and tobacco leaf.
2020 Frankland Estate Shiraz
90% Shiraz, 5% Malbec, 3% Marsanne and 2% Viognier from the Frankland River region. Lifted aromas of cedar combine seamlessly with black pepper spice and subtle cloves, blue fruits, young berries and Damson plums to create a soft juicy palate. Lovely textural tannins produce an elegant cool climate Shiraz.
