The nose shows lovely lifted aromatics of white stone fruits, fresh lime and delicate citrus blossom accompanied by spice. There is real intensity to the flavours, classic signatures of the Poison Hill vineyard. Seamless texture with beautifully integrated acidity gives the wine some lovely mouth-watering minerality. The flavours are focused and persistent, with beautiful fruit generosity and a lovely pithy textural component. The wine has lovely balance that builds richness along the palate.

Organically certified, this address has loosened up a conventional strut of austerity, to a swagger of confidence, textural detail and poise. This new stance is embellished with optimally ripe fruit evincing care, love for the land and authority. From white clay, this is a rich and spicy riesling, reminiscent of great Germanic expressions over the sour Aussie norm. A forcefield of palate-staining intensity. Vinous. Extracted righteously. Honest to place and what that brings, be the alcohol a bit higher. This is juicy, powerful and complex. Compelling length. Quince, lemon oil, apricot pith and tonic.

Light, bright yellow colour with a faintly musky, lavender-like aroma which is highly appealing, fresh and clean. Preserved lemon-peel notes. The palate is intense and generous, concentrated and rich, with a long carry and satisfying follow-through. A powerful and already multi-layered riesling which is glorious now and will develop well with time. I can't recall a better Poison Hill than this.
