Wine styleDry, Medium Bodied style of Sangiovese Cabernet

About this product

The tradition of blending small quantities of Cabernet with Sangiovese began in this area in the 1700s. Carmignano was the first recognised region in Italy to have Cabernet and Merlot incorporated into the DOCG- legend has it that Capezzana's vines were sourced directly from Chateau Lafite. Matured for 14 months into 3.5 hectolitre botti and 6 months in bottle before release, gives aromas of red berries, cinnamon and black pepper. Lively with cherry and redcurrant flavours and a smoky finish.
