GaragisteLe Stagiaire Sauvignon 2018
About this product
2018 welcomes a trio of cameo appearances under the increasingly impressive Le Stagiaire label. This is drawn from the small planting of low-yielding, twenty-something Gewürz rooted in the black sand over brown sandy loam of the Tuerong flatlands, Foxeys Road. The fruit from these 22-year-old vines is hand-picked and whole bunch pressed to old barriques. The fermentation is spontaneous and the wine spends eight months nourishing on its ferment lees before bottling. The new label ain’t bad either.

Medium bodied white wines have a lightly textured mouthfeel with moderate flavour impact. Often pale lemon coloured to pale gold.
Semi-dry wines are perceptibly sweet but leaning towards dry.

A little bit of barrel work here, some good concentrated fruit there, and a generous splash of deliciousness as you share it all about! Mmmmm...funky..and moreish, with white stonefruit, pith and crunchy pear. Nice one.
