Fine feeling wine of hallmark power, glide, and depth of perfume and flavour. It’s an aromatic shiraz that showcases ripe, blue and black fruit character with judicious but prominent spicy, tobacco-and-clove oak. Rich and heady. Flavours are strict, black fruited, plummy, dusted in earthy spice, trimmed with chewy oak tannin and yet the wine finds a sleek flow through the ropes of slender tannin finishing granitic, spicy and twiggy. It’s young, firm and springy in texture too. Structure is impressive; it feels like a very well crafted wine.
