Vintage 2012

If the best old school Rhone varietal blends boast power, and the best of the contemporary are furnished with ravishing structure, this may be the only one true example we've seen that offers 100% of both. Either way, the sum is doubly as good as the immensely high quality parts. A lovely floral line of tannin drive, acidity and crunchy intensity is bathing in yet never swamped by a dark and prooding impenetrable density of black fruits and dark flowers. Vibrancy and saturation all in one. Fantastic oak has been swallowed up, showing only when glimpsed as an accompaniment to fennel notes, dry raspberry perfume. There's effortless poise, and many years potentially lie ahead.
