HardysOomoo Shiraz 2012
About this product
Hardys Oomoo Shiraz hails from a time in the early noughties when Hardy’s still included the apostrophe. The wine – is a decent drop. Clean, fruit-driven, slightly spicy, blessed with mulberry, cherry and light plum flavour. Medium-weight as an aggregate. It has a gentle chocolate-like edge but there are no signs that any oak trees were harmed in this wine’s making. As a well-made, well-fruited, quaffing red though it goes all right.

Is in fact linked to its ancestry through its McLaren Vale origin, even though this is not claimed on the front label. Has the good colour of the vintage, and has very attractive blackberry and plum fruit intersected by veins of dark chocolate and fine tannins. Delicious now, but will keep its shape and flavour far longer than its price might suggest. Terrific value.
