About this product
BK Wines was established in 2007 by Brendon and Kirstyn Keys. After learning their craft in NZ, Argentina and California, they found themselves in the Adelaide Hills creating beautiful wines with a minimalist approach.
The fruit for this wine is sourced from the Springs Hill Vineyard in Blewitt Springs. Old vines established in 1975 are dry grown using biodynamic practices. 200 meters elevation on grey sand soils with clay and ironstone gravel. The MSG is 100% carbonic maceration on skins for a month. Handpicked and left to naturally ferment. The wine is fermented and aged separately in mature older puncheons for 12 months then blended prior to bottling. Unfiltered and unfined.

Vintage 2016
95 points
No blend percentage or vinification details. A most attractive fruit forward wine, oak not obvious and it may be that none was used. The (relatively) low alcohol invests the palate with freshness without detracting from the rush of red, purple and black fruits.
