Violets, roses and blackcurrants pervade through the wine like an English country garden. The tannins are especially fine grained and there is a beautiful freshness and mineral quality on the palate. The parcels of fruit are batch vinified in stainless steel tanks before maturation in 100% new oak for between two and three years.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Domaine A is the only winery in Tasmania able to produce a wine of this quality from this Bordeaux blend (90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% each Merlot and Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot; 30 months in 100% new French oak) the secret being closely-spaced, dry-grown old vines. It is a black-fruited wine with an autocratic personality, but will loosen up to a degree over the coming years’.
