Vintage 2013

Tasted January 2022. As a 9 year old wine, having been in our cellar programme, the 2013 Blackwell is only just "hitting its straps". Medium to full-bodied, the colour remains garnet and the body medium to full. Pronounced aromas of spiced plum, chocolate and "deli' meat" are apparent. The wine is coming into balance well. Along with the usual Barossan attributes of blackberry, plum, damp earth, licorice and spice are lifting elements of minty acidity and a soft blanket of tannin, both of which will keep the wine in good order for years to come, should you wish to keep it. We recommend decanting for an hour, at least, for the best results.
