World renowned author, Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winner, Ernest Hemingway was well known for his adventurous lifestyle and love of cocktails. Hemingway is quoted as saying: "The first draft of anything is shi*t, as such, Hemingway's riff on the classic daiquiri evolved from his favourite tipple - The Pappa Doble.



Created in the El Floridita Bar in Havana, Cuba in the early 1930s., Hemingway's "First Draft" and rudimentary mix of lime juice and "double" rum, has been subject to numerous re-writes. El Floridita remastered this cocktail for Hemingway, featuring grapefruit juice, rum, lime and maraschino liqueur, into what is now recognised as The Hemingway Daiquiri.
