Johnnie Walker King George V was created to celebrate the Royal Warrant given in 1934 to the Walker family to mark the exceptional qualities of their whiskies. The King George has more restraint and sophistication courtesy of the Port Ellen Distillery component that is powerful, slow and resonant. It initially shows a profound smoky aroma followed by sweet, fresh fruit (apples, pears, bananas) malt characteristics; developing into rich dried fruit and spicy complexity, raisins, figs and cinnamon

This is an outstanding whisky. I'm not a great fan of peat but the blend here is just fabulous. The smoke rounds out some fabulous dark pudding, marmalade and honey characteristics that make this an extremely opulent blend.

Mixing with milk gives the smokey curdle of cream that has been camp-fire-dried and has a lovely chew. Highly recommended and I suggest organic milk.
