HoughtonJack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec 1999
About this product
Honouring the legendary Jack Mann who served a remarkable 51 vintages at Houghton, the 1999 is a wine of complexity, grace and generous style. Deep burgundy in colour, the wine is brimming with aromas of cassis, plums and violet, vanilla and cedary oak. A long firm finish with dry powdery tannins follows a complex palate, now with a little less fruit intensity it once had in its youth.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

A blend of cabernet sauvignon and malbec from Frankland River, a true tribute to the wine style of the late Jack Mann. Dense purple-red, the rich and concentrated bouquet oozes sweet blackcurrant/cassis, the huge, ultra-concentrated fruit of the palate balanced by appropriately firm tannins and lavish oak.
