Château SoutardSaint-Émilion 1985
About this product
Château Soutard has a history that dates back to 1775 and has been owned by the same family since 1811. Soutard's winemaking is in the hands of François de Ligneris, who initially trained as an architect before switching his studies to wine and then spent time working with the Hill-Smith family in Australia before beginning to take over from his father. Soutard is located in the northern extreme of Saint Emilion's limestone plateau - 75% of the vineyards(27 hectares) are located on the limestone plateau, the rest being planted on limestone-clay and sandy slopes. Soutard's Saint-Émilion Bordeaux is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately according to variety, age of the vines and the part of the vineyard.
