PenfoldsRWT Barossa Valley Shiraz 2000
About this product
First vintaged in 1997 after several years of 'Red Winemaking Trials', RWT is a relative new-comer, but adds great diversity to the Penfolds stable of iconic red wines. Sourced from vineyards on the western edge of the Barossa Valley, namely from Kalimna, Moppa and Ebenezer and matured in 100% French Oak, RWT epitomises contemporary Barossa Shiraz. The fruit is particularly opulent and seductive. The 2000 RWT is medium crimson in colour with mulberry, redcurrant and brambly aromas with some earthy notes. Medium bodied, sweet mulberry redcurrant and cherry flavours. Fine loose knit lacy tannins and savoury oak.
