There's plenty to consider here: the whorl of dark fruit all spiced up with licorice, the dark chocolate flecked with mint, and the savoury spectrum with charcuterie and soy sauce. It's voluminous across the palate, but contained. The tannins are firm, just some green edges sneaking in and of course the oak is firmly in place.

This is a great Shiraz. Sheer pleasure awaits as this Kilikanoon Covenant reaches out and consumes you. Go here. Already with four years under its belt, there is still some tension that points to a long future. It sees 14 months in new and seasoned French oak and the balance between the fruit and oak is seamless. Blackberries, plums, dark chocolate and an array of exotic spices muse. Lucious with glorious rounded feels, fine tannins frame a lengthy and detailed finish which offers cause to ponder each sip carefully. It's simply beautiful drinking and this is amplified by the price point which will pay dividends for many years to come given its agability. Drink to ten years or more 94/100
