About this product

The magnificently rugged property that the Heggies vineyards now reside was once tough and undulating grazing country until Wyndham Hill Smith purchased the land and transformed the property into one of the best vineyard sites in the Eden Valley. First plantings began in 1971 and since 1979, Heggies wines have brought to fruition the vision that Hill Smith possessed. The 2006 Riesling is born out of a vintage that began dry in the autumn, but welcome rain in the spring allowed for healthy canopies and nice fruit set. The mild ripening season led to early flavour development and outstanding acid levels which have held the wine wonderfully during its time in our cellars and is now perfect for enjoying with some Morton Bay Bugs or fresh scallops.
