1883: Rum for the Hills. This year marks the construction of Spring Hill House - a grand old homestead owned by the Noakes family. The Noakes' went on to become founding shareholders in the Bundaberg Distilling Co. And the house? It still stands at the modern day location of the distillery.

An all time favourite of mine and this purchase to recall the many great times my old mate and I had a quiet tipple. Well quiet for the first hour anyway. What possible harm could come from a field of wavering sugar cane???
