About this product

The predominate grape variety in this wine is Carmenère which was thought to be extinct since phylloxera hit Bordeaux in the 19th Century, but rediscovered in Chile about 12 years ago. Purple Angel spends 18 months in new French and American oak and offers a wonderfully elegant palate and great length.

Outstanding wine, 'purple' colour and fruit (plums and mulberry) but the underneath favours of cinnamon, cardamon and 5 spice and a extra long lush finish make this wine. Drink now while you wait for the barossa's to gain age
