Well situated close to Pauillac, and with a cepage of 52% Cab Sauv and 48% Merlot, this Cru Bourgeois ranked Bordeaux red offers a good deal of interest for a wine of its price. There’s an overall smoothness brought about by the plushness of the fruit, oak influence and tannin management. The nose offers up savoury cherry, blackberry, cedar and coffee bean, while the mellow palate adds to the aforementioned a distinct licorice note. It’s mid-weight, quite stylish, from a very good stable, and is a step up from many lower priced clarets.
