Family owned Villa Maria Estate has been rated as New Zealand’s +Most Trusted Wine Brand+ in Reader's Digest poll 2016. Pale gold in colour, this is a complex Chardonnay with buttery caramel aromas behind the ripe tropical fruit characters. The palate shows flavours of peach and apricot with a rich textured mouth feel.

A good middle of the road chard. Not big old school lime the reserve chardonay by the same maker. But lots of nice chardonay fruit on show

A good middle of the road chardonay with a bit more going for it than some of the modern lighter styles. However does not have the deep richness of the reserve chardonay from the same company

Am drinking right now in fact. Very drinkable, I'm so over certain other whites and Chardonnay is really drinkable, after the lemony zing of other whites. A solid white, better a little warmer, especially this time of year.

Disappointed and found it difficult to enjoy. I love their Sem Blanc, but this 2023 Chardonnay was hard to swallow. I had bottle #2 and decided to aerate / decant a few times and tasted a few hours later, a remarkable improvement, thankfull
