Sweet, juicy and ripe and doesn't it delivers these characters with aplomb. You have to hand it to this wine. It's jellied and raspberried, licoricey and sweet-spiced but it's really just itself. It delivers the goods, without fuss.

There is something unadulterated and primary about this wine. Candied orange zest meshed with a sweet-sour red berry tang. Really attractive. This seems more intuitive and easy-going than the range of shiraz that is hard and effortful. This, far easier to drink, attesting to the bright future of warm climate Italian indigenes on these shores.
