I've been really impressed with the latest tranche of releases from Yelland & Papps. Purely fruited with modest alcohols, graceful lines and a real effortless sense of drinking pleasure. The cabernet sauvignon ticks all the boxes, too, with its ripe blackberry, black cherry and dark plum fruits cut with hints of baking spices, chocolate bullets, dried herbs and gentle cedar tones. Superfine chalky tannins peek over the shoulder of the fruit, and there is some nice minerally drive to the acid line as the wine slowly retreats with a tide of cassis and spice.
