Bailie Nicol Jarvie Scotch is a wonderful value-for-money blend sourced from Speyside, Highland and Islay malts. It is deep rich mahogany with shimmering highlights, with inviting notes of vanilla, pears and possibly violets. A full flavour, well balanced with a good body and a very slight trace of smoke. Every bit as mouth-watering on the palate as the nose suggests, with some lemon tartness countering the rich maltiness and almost chewable grain. The finish is warm, balanced, with a whiff of smoke. Very long for such a fragile blend, with an astonishing depth of simple malt and toffee.
